Matthew Press, MD
Dr. Matthew Press is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine and a lecturer at the Wharton School and School of Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania. He specializes in healthcare payment models, population health, and clinical operations, with leadership experience in academia, government, and health systems. At Penn Medicine, he led primary care strategy, quality improvement, and network expansion, advancing value-based care and population health programs.
Previously, Dr. Press was a senior leader at CMS, where he helped design ACOs, bundled payments, and integrated mental health models. He has served as the government lead for HCPLAN and a member of the AMA RVS Update Committee (RUC). A practicing internist, his research on payment reform and mental health integration has been published in top medical journals and covered by major media. He earned his MD from Brown University and trained at the University of Pennsylvania.
Mark McShane, MD
Dr. Mark McShane is a pediatric hospital medicine fellow at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and a board-certified pediatrician. With a strong focus on climate change and pediatric health, he has worked on sustainability initiatives in healthcare, including serving on Texas Children’s Sustainability Committee. At CHOP, he is applying quality improvement methodologies to reduce the environmental footprint of inpatient care while ensuring safe and high-value treatment.
Currently pursuing a Master’s in Healthcare Quality & Safety at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. McShane collaborates with executive and operational leaders to integrate sustainability into healthcare systems. He specializes in decarbonizing inpatient care and developing medical education programs on the health effects of climate change. A graduate of Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, he completed his pediatrics residency and chief residency at Baylor College of Medicine. He is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Society of Hospital Medicine.
Michael A. Fishman, MD, MBA

He holds board certifications in anesthesiology and pain medicine from the American Board of Anesthesiology. Tejal Patel, PharmD
Tejal Patel is a clinical safety and pharmacovigilance specialist with over 15 years of experience in risk management, drug safety, and medical communication in oncology. She most recently worked as a Senior Scientist in Clinical Safety Risk Management at Merck, where she focused on safety evaluations and risk mitigation strategies. Prior to that, she was a Drug Safety Specialist at Johnson & Johnson, handling pharmacovigilance case processing and regulatory compliance. She also served as a Drug Safety Pharmacist Team Lead at Ashfield, part of UDG Healthcare, overseeing safety reporting and team coordination.
Tejal began her career as a pharmacist, spending over 12 years at Albertsons Companies and working per diem at Cancer Treatment Centers of America, where she specialized in oncology-focused medication management. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and is highly skilled in clinical risk assessment, oncology drug development, and regulatory safety compliance. Her expertise makes her a key leader in pharmacovigilance and patient safety.
Astrela Moore, PharmD, BCPPS
Dr. Astrela Moore is a Board-Certified Pediatric Pharmacy Specialist (BCPPS) and a clinical pharmacy specialist at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). She provides expert pharmaceutical care in general pediatrics, gastroenterology, complex care, rehabilitation, and rheumatology. As a residency preceptor with CHOP’s Pharmacy Residency Program, she plays a key role in mentoring future pharmacists. Shannon Haar, PharmD, BCPS
Dr. Shannon Haar is a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist (BCPS) and a clinical assistant professor at the School of Health Professions: Pharmacy Practice and Administration. She brings extensive expertise in infectious diseases, heart failure, liver disorders, and transitions of care, with a strong focus on teaching and learning in pharmacy education. In addition to her academic role, she is a clinical pharmacist at HFS Pharmacy, where she contributes to medication management, patient education, and evidence-based pharmacy practice.
Dr. Haar earned her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from Notre Dame of Maryland University and completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Virtua Health System. She further specialized in pharmacotherapy through a PGY2 residency at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy in conjunction with Cooper University Hospital. With a passion for clinical research and education, she focuses on advancing pharmacotherapy and mentoring future pharmacists to enhance patient care.
